New PS4 Tournaments feature iconic fighting, FPS, and sports games

Game Ace Pro 0 0

As we look back at the past year, we’re grateful for the growth of our competitive gaming community and excited for what lies ahead. Over the next two months, we will offer a collection of new competitive programs for PlayStation Tournaments featuring new opportunities to watch, learn, and play

A Look Back at PS4 Tournaments in 2021

Last year was our most eventful and competition-filled year so far. PlayStation players walked away with more than $5 million in prizes across more than 8,000 tournaments. We also saw more than 500,000 participants  take home a prize from our competitions — a number that we’re aiming to beat in 2022.

We were excited to recently introduce Flash Round tournaments. These are fast-paced competitions with no brackets or eliminations. With each round lasting no longer than a single match, players can compete in multiple Flash Rounds to rack up as many wins as possible and secure larger prizes at the end of the tournament. You can sign up for Flash Rounds in FIFA 22 or NBA 2K22 either on the Competition Center or on a PS4 console*.

Upcoming Programs On PS4

Across our upcoming competitions, players can expect less waiting between playtime, new formats, expanded prize pools, and more chances to win prizes — including PlayStation-themed avatars and PS4 themes just for participating. Here’s a look at some new and upcoming programs arriving on PlayStation Tournaments, with many more to come.

Sign up for PlayStation Tournaments at compete.playstation.com or head over to the Events tab on PS4.

  • Apex Legends Master Circuit: Our Apex Legends Master Circuit is an epic eight-week competition offering players a chance to win a share of $10,000 in cash prizes and a PS5 console. The Circuit ends with a massive Final, which you can reach by winning points in weekly Qualifiers or joining bi-weekly two-day mini-tournaments called Slay Days. The top players and teams across the Qualifiers and Slay Days will get a chance to face off in the finals for the grand prize.

Season 1 will take place in North America and Europe from May 16 to July 15**.

  • Rainbow Six Siege Open Series: You can sign up for the Rainbow Six Siege: Open Series for a chance to become a champion. It’s a great opportunity to connect with other competitors and keep improving your game. We’re updating the series with a player-friendly upgrade that includes bigger prize pools, more opportunity to win prizes, and a quicker experience.

The new Rainbow Six Siege Open Series updates are now live and tournaments are available every month across North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, Australia & New Zealand, and the Middle East.

Game Ace Pro 0 0

Eldest Souls is a critically-acclaimed soulslike action-RPG available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Today we’re releasing the major expansion, Depths of the Forgotten, which adds approximately 30% more content and even more brutally-challenging bosses all for free. Packed with a heap of content you’ll discover new locations, bosses and weapons in addition to finding new lore about the history of this world.

You are mankind’s only hope, together with your greatsword of pure Obsydian, you are tasked to take on the Old Gods, who have unleashed a great desolation upon the world as a final act of vengeance.

New Zones to Explore

With the Depths of the Forgotten expansion, it’s possible to explore what’s behind the door in the Enchanted Forest. As the name suggests, you will be descending far below the Citadel to new and undiscovered areas using a mysterious elevator. These unexplored locations are home to some of the toughest bosses you’re yet to face. Are you up to the challenge?

The Rejected Daughter

The first of three new bosses is a monstrous outcome of mixing human and godly genes into a single being. The Rejected Daughter was Eksyll’s failed hope of a worthy heir. Instead of putting the creature out of her misery, Eksyl decided to keep her locked away, deep within the depths, and the years have not been kind…

Zylad, Lord of Steel

Zylad, Lord of Steel, is a result of his battle-strewn past. Zylad was always a fierce adversary, but thanks to Eksyll’s enhancements, soon gained powers akin to Godhood. Leading the legions that invaded the Citadel, Zylad’s newfound strength caused him to act above his station, eventually leading to his discharge and imprisonment within the Depths.

The Rotten Crown

The corpulent King Otto swore he would not perish alongside his crumbling Kingdom, and sacrificed a great deal to a winged saviour for the gift of eternal salvation. Unfortunately for His Majesty, the supposed Saviour didn’t feel like parting ways with his new Royal play-thing and instead locked him away for his own twisted amusement.

Sci-fi adventure Exo One comes to PS4 & PS5 this summer

Game Ace Pro 0 0

Hi folks! I’m stoked to be able to tell you all that Exo One will be landing on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this summer. Exo One began five years ago with a relatively simple idea about using gravity as a movement mechanic, and gradually grew into something strange and special, inspired by my love for sci-fi cinema and games that moved me emotionally. I’m super excited to see it find a new audience and reach new technical heights with this PS5 port.

Sci-fi adventure Exo One comes to PS4 & PS5 this summer

In Exo One you’ll embark on a journey beyond the solar system, discovering everything from terrestrial deserts to dreamy gas giants as the pilot of an alien probe. Glide and roll across the landscape, controlling gravity itself to reach colossal speeds and exhilarating heights.

You’ll ride thermal updrafts into boiling cloud formations, careen down hillsides, and launch off mountain tops, all the time drifting toward the shining blue beam on the horizon.

I designed this game as a sort of meditative focus on traversal. There’s no timer measuring your progress, monsters, or enemies to fight. It’s really about the atmosphere and the blend of speed and stillness, like a flowing roller coaster.

Immersive PS5 Experience

PS5 players with high refresh rate TVs or monitors will have the option to experience the game at its smoothest and most responsive, thanks to the 120fps support we’ve added. We’ve also managed to add some extra features for the DualSense wireless controller, with haptics that reflect the terrain and weather of each planet, creating a more immersive experience than ever before.

There’s wind resistance in the game, which makes flying more challenging. Thanks to the PS5’s haptics, you’ll feel the resistance on the trigger while going into gliding through winds and updrafts.
