Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania: A love letter to banana maniacs

Game Ace Pro 0 0

Welcome, everyone, to Jungle Island – home to AiAi and his monkey gang! I’m Masao Shirosaki, citizen of the island and producer of the Super Monkey Ball series.

Please grab a banana and join me while I share the story behind the latest title in the series, Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania, out today on PS4 and PS5.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania: A love letter to banana maniacs

A new beautiful monkey world

What led to the creation of this title?  When we released the last Super Monkey Ball game, we received a ton of requests from fans around the world wishing for a remake of the original Super Monkey Ball and Super Monkey Ball 2. This project started as a direct answer to those fan voices.

Starting with the original stage data from a game that is now 20 years old (happy anniversary AiAi!), our first step was making the monkey gang’s world more colorful and vibrant, upping the texture resolution and remaking the environments and decorations in detail. We also fully remade the UI to give the new game a modern look. Plus: adding more bananas so it feels even better to roll through the stages.

Another important focus was play tempo. We shortened the time between “Fall out” and “Retry” as much as possible so you can get right back to playing without loading time.

Stage adjustments won’t ruin your memories

In terms of the stage difficulty, we made sure to keep it as close to the original as possible to honor the memories fans have of the original games. However, there were some stages in the original that were so hard it made you want to stare blankly at the sky. I’m sure there are some of you who know what I’m talking about…

For instance, “EXAM-C” from the original Super Monkey Ball. This stage has a beautiful nighttime landscape but the stage was so difficult you had no time to enjoy the view. There were elevations and incredibly narrow, curved paths that required your entire focus at all times. We made some slight tweaks to the stage, extending the completion time and widening the curved path in the second half of the stage so you can play a bit more relaxed. I’m sure now you can at least somewhat enjoy the beautiful view while you play!

Another classic stage is “AR

10 Tips to master Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey, out tomorrow

Game Ace Pro 0 0

Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey is the latest adventure in the Puzzle Bobble saga – and while you may recognize some familiar faces and color-matching, bubble bursting gameplay, this all-new adventure is unlike any other game in the series. Tomorrow, get ready to experience the first-ever 3D Puzzle Bobble game, which delivers a new challenge as you aim to solve three-dimensional bubble clusters with depth and reactive physics.

With 100 levels worth of escalating difficulty, Puzzle Bobble 3D can present quite a challenge. But you’re in luck! All of us here at Survios want to make sure you get the most out of your vacation, and we’re here to share our top 10 tips and tricks that’ll have you bursting bubbles with the best of them.

10 Tips to master Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey, out tomorrow

1. Watch Your Win Condition

In Story Mode, pay attention to what the win condition is for each level. Sometimes you don’t have to pop all the bubbles to complete the puzzle. For example, if your goal is to Free the Chack’n, you only have to pop the bubbles with Chack’n inside them to win.

Free the Chack’n!

2. Consider Clearing One Color at a Time

If you have a chance to eliminate all the bubbles of one color from the board, do it! When there’s fewer remaining colors to match, there’s a greater chance that the next bubble Bob gives you will be the one you need to clear a big cluster.

3. Avoid Sticking Extra Bubbles to the Core

Every bubble puzzle is made up of dozens of bubbles that branch off of a central core. On many occasions, your goal is to burst all the bubbles surrounding the core so that it activates. But if you shoot bubbles directly at the exposed core before all the other bubbles around it have been burst, they’ll just attach to it, and you’ll have to waste shots bursting them in addition to the other bubbles.

4. Cancel Your Shot at Anytime

If you’re playing with a DualShock or DualSense wireless controller and you don’t like the shot you’ve got lined up, you can always press L2 to cancel your shot. You can also cancel your shot when playing in VR with Playstation Move controllers. After you’ve pulled back the plunger on your bubble cannon, simply return your hand to the neutral position and release the trigger button to cancel your shot. Cancelling your shot gives you the opportunity to try again for the perfect match or equip a powerup.

The thoughtful game structure of Jett: The Far Shore, out tomorrow

Game Ace Pro 0 0

We have lift-off: Jett: The Far Shore is out tonight on PS5 and PS4! To mark the occasion, here’s a video featuring composer scntfc’s song “Jett To Cosmodrome Z-13” to draw you in.

The thoughtful game structure of Jett: The Far Shore, out tomorrow

The connections between Jett: The Far Shore and my prior effort as director and co-creator, Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, can be felt on several levels. There are vibes in common, let’s say.

Even sworcery’s explicit segmentation – into four “sessions” – has its echo in Jett: The Far Shore. More on this below.

That said, Jett is very much its own thing, and it’s strong out of the gate.

It was evident to me, years ago, that for an unconventional and ambitious project like Jett to properly resonate, it could use a banger of a first half hour.

I figured we ought to pull out all the stops to immediately immerse the player in this new science fiction cosmos, then in short order give players some time at the Jett’s helm, all while building up a sense of how Jett’s storytelling operates on a few orders of magnitude, with enough intimacy and interiority to forge a human connection and stir people’s curiosity, coupled with enough cinematic bombast to impress.

I love how 0. Embark turned out, how it reels you in and pulls you across the stars. I hope you check it out!

Genshin Impact Version 2.2: Dispel the mystic fog shrouding Tsurumi Island

Game Ace Pro 0 0

Hello Travelers! Once again, your Genshin Impact dev team is here to bring you the newest information about the latest Genshin Impact update! With Version 2.2 Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog, coming on October 13, we’re going to bring you the last of the six major islands of Inazuma and Thoma as a playable character, together with his Hangout Event. Meanwhile, you may also step up to new challenges in Inazuma with Tartaglia and Xinyan, or enjoy some time with old friends in Liyue, Mondstadt, or in your personal realm.

Besides, if you haven’t received the free five-star crossover character Savior From Another World Aloy yet, please make sure to check her out during Version 2.2. You can also receive Predator, a special bow tailor-made for Aloy, and start hunting together in the world of Teyvat.

Genshin Impact Version 2.2: Dispel the mystic fog shrouding Tsurumi Island

An Island Shrouded in Fog

While each of the major islands in Inazuma has its own unique characteristics, Tsurumi Island might be the toughest one for wanderers and explorers. The dense fog that envelops the entire island is a strong deterrent to most outsiders. You will have to find your way in, and be careful about getting lost in the fog which you can barely see through.

New monstrous beasts also lurk in the gloomy mist. The Rifthounds and the Rifthound Whelps are stealthy monsters from the Abyss which can turn invisible, sneaking around for the best opportunity to land a strike in combat. Both the Rifthounds and Rifthound Whelps have Electro or Geo attributes. But what makes this species really dangerous is their ability to apply the Corrosion status to enemies. When an attack hits a character, all party members will be affected by the Corrosion status and continually lose HP regardless if they’re shielded or not. So beware of the hounds!

In addition, Tsurumi Island appears to be the focus of recent research by a scholar from Sumeru. In the Shadow of the Ancients seasonal event, you can team up with the Sumeru scholar to form a research team to accomplish investigation commissions across Mondstadt, Li

Once the event is over, all unlocked rewards (note: Deadlands is playable November 16) will be available to be claimed in the in-game Crown Store by Blackwood Chapter owners. Ready to explore Blackwood and earn these fantastic rewards? Here’s some quick tips on how to get started unlocking the Blackwood Pathfinder achievement:

  • Check Your Achievements: You can check your achievement progress from your Journal UI. Simply navigate to your Journal, then select Achievements, select Blackwood, and find the Pathfinder Achievement under Exploration.
  • Work With the #ESOFam: There’ll be a lot of your fellow players also seeking out the various locations required to unlock the Blackwood Pathfinder achievement. Reach out and see if they can help you find your way — some might even take you there.
  • Be Prepared for Action: While the Pathfinder achievement’s striking locales are beautiful, screenshot-worthy locations, Blackwood is a dangerous part of Tamriel, so before you set out, be sure to equip your best gear and consumables in case of trouble.
  • Harvest and Loot Everything: In addition to the goods you can unlock by getting the Pathfinder achievement, there’s also bonus rewards you can earn by completing Daily Quests, looting monsters, or harvesting resource nodes, so keep an eye out.
  • Earn the Achievement on Other Characters: The Blackwood Pathfinder achievement can be earned by each of your characters, so you can earn it multiple times to further the community’s progress even more.
  • Note that you can only participate in this in-game event and receive its rewards if you have access to The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood — as it so happens, ESO’s latest Chapter is now on sale on the PlayStation Store at up to 50% off.

Players’ Choice: Vote for September 2021’s best new game

Game Ace Pro 0 0

Happy Halloween season, friends. We’re excited to open up the voting boo-ths for the month of September 2021. Deciding your favorite will be no easy task, as the past month was packed with some scary-good games. Think hard before casting a vote for Deathloop, Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Life is Strange: True Colors, Tales of Arise, or any of the other contenders listed in the polls below. Happy voting!

How does it work? At the end of every month, PlayStation.Blog will open a poll where you can vote for the best new game released that month. Soon thereafter, we’ll close the polls, tally your votes, and announce the winner at PlayStation.Blog. PlayStation Store will also showcase some top Players’ Choice winners throughout the year.

What is the voting criteria? That’s up to you! If you were only able to recommend one new release to a friend that month, which would it be? In keeping with our long tradition in the Game of the Year Awards, remastered or re-released games won’t qualify. Ambitious, larger-scale rebuilds and remakes like Shadow of the Colossus and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will.

How are nominees decided? The PlayStation.Blog and PlayStation Store editorial teams will gather a list of that month’s most noteworthy releases and use it to seed the poll. Write-in votes will be accepted.
